Old houses are a niche specialty for the studio — they reward patience and a real respect for their secrets. This historic Palo Alto shingle home was exactly that kind of labor of love.
Stripped to the studs and raised up for a full-floor basement addition, the house was rebuilt from the ground up while keeping the soul of its original architecture intact.
The finished interior balances warm woods, honest materials and collected furnishings — a working family home that wears its long history lightly.
